Let’s Revamp: Home interiors from the 50s.

Decorating a home is always fun and many of us are inspired by the retro style, the popular trend from the 50s,60s, and 70s. You may have a modern house but to have a vintage vibe in your space, mix-match the modern interior with the old retro pieces. Do you also have an obsession with vintage and antique? Its time to think about the era, choose the colors and pick the iconic designs to redecorate your living. Once you have a clear picture of your aesthetics, you will easily consolidate the vibe.

Today’s trend is all about creating the retro vibe with a fusion of old vintage pieces and pairing them with the modern interior. But what makes the 50s era unique? It was a decade that brought many changes in the history of fashion, lifestyle, design, and explorations. The 1950s is the new fad that has been emerging in the modern market. Going retro doesn’t mean to overload with vibrant colors and patterns. If you are inspired by the decade, you can go with muted Pastels, Scandinavian, and Modern colors to create a natural ambiance of your living.

To incorporate the authentic retro decor, try to look for the antique designs and pieces of furniture that can change an aura of the room. However, it is essential not to overdo with vintage pieces and avoid unnecessary clutter. Try to showcase those iconic items of the decade, that could add charm to your decor. Vintage vases, Rugs, Old light fixtures, floral curtains, Wall arts, Cuttlery, Typewriter, etc are some of the additional retro items that can go well with the vintage aesthetics.

One simple way to make the decor more appealing is to have fun with colors and textures. Sepia prints on the wall frames can be paired up with the accent chairs and mismatched interior. To balance the theme antique lamps, wooden clocks, chandeliers, and mirrors are some of the sophisticated additions to the living room. Hanging patterned rug was popular during that era. You can recreate the artsy rug and hang it on the wall.

If you are a book lover, setting up a mini library is another amazing idea, with retro wooden armchair, coffee table, and collection of books. Some of the statement pieces that can be used in bedrooms are rustic beds with wood canopy, wooden flooring, brass table lamps, textured wallpapers, and vinyl music system. Vintage lights can easily upgrade the retro vibe in your room.

It’s important to keep the designs and aesthetics in mind before planning your home makeover. Going vintage is one of the best ways to recreate the decor and add the retro feel in your house!
